NEW PRINTER! and how to print....

HURAAAAGH! we have a (nice) new printer- and it prints to large sized paper..... It is called the EPSON Artisan 1430

here it is:




To print from Photoshop, choose "FILE- print"

Then set up the print controls like this


Be sure to check these settings:

 choose the printer....

let Photoshop control color matching....


 Then check the paper size and type  by pressing the "print settings" button.




 Match these settings


 Then check the paper type and quality...


Save those settings to get back to the print controls.....


scale to fit it to the printable area....

THEN press PRINT....

Posting Your Drawing

Post a jpeg of your first drawing to the blog-

1. Post a screenshot (command + SHIFT + "4") of the layers palette.

2. Discuss HOW you solved the project, by answering these questiuons:

• What is the focal point of your drawing? What makes it stand out?

• What was the most important technique in creating your drawing? Values, brushes, layers, filters, eraser, or other tricks?

• Explain how your drawing shows your  CREATIVE and UNIQUE use of Brushes, layers, filters, eraser, or composition...What makes your drawing unique?

NEW SKILLS TO USE!

Start using these keyboard shortcuts- I'll test you on them next week :-)


“V” = the move tool
“B” = brush tool
"E"= eraser tool
“R” = rotate canvas
"esc"= canvas back to normal
"command" + "option" + "Z" = undo last step

Working with Layers in Photoshop

You need layers to build your first series of drawings in Photoshop. 

Use a new layer for EACH drawing.

Name each layer....
